Windows 10 – Sooner Rather Than Later

Microsoft announced yesterday (June 1, 2015) that Windows 10 will be released on July 29, 2015.  We have received a number of emails and phone calls because computer users with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have begun seeing a small icon down in the clock area of the taskbar (which we used to call the “sys tray”) and they were wondering if it is legitimate.   Here’s a screenshot: windows10updateicon

If you place your cursor over the icon, you’ll see a message that reads: “Get Windows 10.”  If you actually click on the icon, this is the screen you’ll see:

windows10reservationwindowIt is safe to reserve your copy of Windows 10.  When the time comes, your computer will automatically download it but won’t install it until you give it the go-ahead.
