Amazingly, I have customers with Windows 10 who are still using Internet Explorer as their primary browser. If you are one of those people, I have a message for you: it’s time to stop using IE!
In today’s Internet world, security is primary. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer – which has been around since August, 1995 – is no longer secure enough to keep you safe online.
With the release of Windows 10, Microsoft introduced its much more secure browser, Microsoft Edge. (I’m writing this post in Edge!) The new browser is locked down much more than IE, mostly through the limitations of extensions (add-ons).
Are there any issues with Microsoft Edge? Yes, there are some websites that just don’t like Edge yet but overall, I rarely am forced to use a different browser because a site doesn’t work correctly in Edge.
Some customers tell me they don’t want to switch from IE because they’ll lose their Favorites. That’s not the case – you can import your favorites from IE into Edge (or from any other browser you’re using). Also, people simply don’t like change and I get that. Still, it IS TIME to change. Keep an open mind and give Microsoft Edge a fair shot. I think you’ll be fine and I know you’ll be safer online.
