This blog post applies to you if you meet the following two conditions: 1) you have already read our last post, “Defrag Your RAM” and 2) you are using a computer with Windows 10. If these two scenarios don’t relate to you, read this blog anyway just so you can increase your personal knowledge!
As we mentioned in our last blog post, the Shut Down option in Windows 10, by default, doesn’t actually turn the computer completely off. Instead, it puts the computer into a deep, deep sleep. While this makes for faster start-up (boot-up), it doesn’t completely clear the RAM. Only a totally shut down that lasts 5 minutes or so can do that.
