We’ve initiated three new blog-related changes. First, our entire blog is now secured with our SSL certificate. No matter what page of our blog you are on, you will see the locked padlock and the “s” as part of the https//. What this means is more security while you’re on our site.
Speaking of security, the second change we’ve made is: you will now see a privacy and cookies pop-up at the bottom of the blog window. It will look like this:

On the right-side of the pop-up, you will see the Close and Accept button. Once you click on that, you won’t be bothered again for 6 months or so. However, keep in mind that your acceptance is directly related to which browser you are in. (Don’t know what a browser is? Read our blog entitled “What????“) This means that if you visit our blog in different browsers, you would need to accept the Privacy & Cookies Policy for each browser. Also, if you clear the cookies for the browser, you will see the pop-up again. You have probably noticed a similar pop-up now appearing on many pages. This is happening so that websites can comply with the European Union’s regulation called the General Data Protection Regulation.
The third change involves those who sign up to have our blog posts sent to their Inbox. As I stated when I first started this blog, I try to post 6 times a week. Unfortunately, because of my schedule, that doesn’t always translate into once-a-day for six days. Sometimes, I skip a day or more and wind up writing 2 or 3 blog posts in the same day. With our original method of notifying you via email, this would mean you might be getting two or three emails a day from us. That’s not really something I enjoy when I’m on the receiving end so I don’t want to do that to you, either. With that in mind, we’re changing to a system where you will receive an email around 7:00 a.m. EDT, if anything new was posted the day before. If I don’t post anything, you won’t receive an email. If I write one, two or three posts since the last email, you’ll get one email with all the posts contained therein.
One thing that hasn’t changed for email subscribers is that, sometimes, some feature that I use on the blog doesn’t work well in email. When I know that’s going to happen, I’ll still post this at the bottom:
Blog Email Subscribers: This post contains a special layout that does not translate well in email. If you find this post of interest, please click on the URL link to get the full effect.
Anyway, that’s it for new changes this week!
