Turn It On!

If you have Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise version 1903, you have the ability to run the Windows Sandbox. However, it’s not on by default. Here’s how to turn on the Windows Sandbox:

In the search field on the taskbar (or, right-click on the Start Menu and choose Search), type “turn windows features on or off” without the quotes. Click the keyboard Enter key.

The Windows Features window will pop up. Scroll until you find Windows Sandbox. Put a check mark in the box next to it and click OK. Windows will install the Sandbox. You will have to reboot (restart) your computer when it’s finished.

Once it’s installed, to use the Sandbox, type “sandbox” without the quotes in the search field and hit the Enter key. You’ll get a User Account Control window on which you’ll need to click Yes. The Windows Sandbox will open (it’s often a little slow to start up) and you can begin to experiment.
