Most of us use the Internet every day yet we often lose sight of what others are doing on the Net. Here are some stats which you might find surprising:
- Chinese tech giant Huawei says it’s the target of about a million cyber-attacks a day.
- As of January 2019, there are almost 4.4 billion active internet users, equivalent to 57% of the global population.
- About 14.5 billion spam emails are sent every single day.
- Worldwide, there are 1.495 billion daily active users (DAUs) on Facebook as of Q3 2018.
- 60 Million Sites Use WordPress – the platform our blog uses.
- When Bill Clinton took office in 1993, there were approximately 50 servers on the Internet; today, it is estimated that there are over 75,000 servers.
- When he was President, Bill Clinton sent two (2) emails.
- 77% of Twitter users feel more positive about a brand when their Tweet is replied to.
- President Trump Is Averaging 36 Tweets a Day.
- There are approximately 750,000 podcast shows available worldwide.
- YouTube: 400 hours of video is uploaded every minute; 576,000 hours of video is uploaded every day; 1 billion hours of video content is watched daily.
While I’ve tried to be careful in finding sources for these facts, some of the items are difficult to really nail down to an exact number. Still, even if these stats are off a bit, they are still staggering. Think about some of these items next time you surf the Net.
