On Wednesday of this week, Microsoft released the final version of it’s new Microsoft Edge browser. The new browser works in Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows 10 along with Mac OS, iOS and Android. (Keep in mind, support for Windows 7 has ended so you really shouldn’t be using that operating system.) It will be pushed out to Windows users over a period of time.
If you’re a Windows 10 user, here are some things you should know:
- When the new Microsoft Edge installs on your computer, it will automatically remove the old Edge.
- When the new Edge installs on your computer, it will transfer bookmarks (favorites) and other data from the old Edge before it deletes the old Edge.
- If you have Microsoft Edge Developer or Microsoft Edge Beta versions of the browser installed, it will NOT automatically uninstall those apps. They will need to be removed manually.
- If you don’t want to wait for the new Microsoft Edge to push out to your machine, you can download it by using the button below.
If you have an OS other than Windows 10 OR if you have Windows 10 but don’t feel like waiting for the new Edge to be pushed out, you can download it now by clicking the button below.
