Did you read our Question of the Week email for February 3, 2019? (If not, you should read it now – before you continue with this post. You’ll find it HERE.)
In addition to what I shared in the email, I wanted to warn you of something scammers/hackers are doing. They are sending emails with attachments that supposedly are information sheets regarding the China virus. Or, the attachment will appear to be a warning about the virus. DO NOT OPEN THESE ATTACHMENTS!
As I have relayed in blog posts tons of times, Social Engineering is the primary way hackers and other bad people trick you into doing something you should not do on a computing device. Do not allow fear: to motivate you into opening an attachment you should just delete; or, to click on a link you should just leave alone.
Be careful when receiving any email about the 2019-nCoV virus, especially ones with attachments. Again, if you want to know the latest regarding this virus, you should visit the site I told you about in the Question of the Week email.
