Facebook Emails

Yesterday, a customer logged into Remote Technical Support for a quarterly checkup. Also, she wanted to know if there was a way to stop getting emails from Facebook every time one of her friends posted something.

If you have a lot of friends on Facebook, getting an email every time they post or comment or get tagged in a picture is annoying. Luckily, there’s an easy fix.

First, go to Facebook and find “Settings.” How you get there is slightly different depending on whether you’re using a computer or a mobile device. On Facebook mobile, click on the four horizontal lines in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. When the menu appears, find “Settings & Privacy.” Click and then click on “Settings.” If you’re using a computer, on your Facebook page, click on the icon at the top right-hand corner of the page which looks like a down arrowhead. From the menu which appears, click “Settings.” (If you’re using the new Facebook beta, it’s “Settings & Privacy.”) The settings will appear on the left side of the screen.

Whether mobile or computer, once you’ve gotten to “Settings,” find “Notifications.” Under “How You Get Notifications” click Email. Under this heading, you can choose to only get notifications about your account (that’s my choice) or you can choose some other options. Read the other options over and decide what’s best for you.
