Today, myself and a few of my friends – about 2.6 million of them – watched the live Apple event. Most of us sat on the edge of our seat waiting to have all the iPhone rumors either confirmed or debunked.

But, alas, we had to wait even longer than we thought. Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, started the presentation with the new HomePod Mini.

HomePod Mini

To quote Apple’s home page, the HomePod mini is: “Jam-packed with innovation, HomePod mini delivers unexpectedly big sound for a speaker of its size. At just 3.3 inches tall, it takes up almost no space but fills the entire room with rich 360‑degree audio that sounds amazing from every angle.”

In the online demo, the HomePod mini was pretty impressive. Of course, if you own an iPhone, the mini interacts seamlessly with it. At $99, it’s competitively priced. If you want to read more about it, you might check here: https://www.apple.com/homepod-mini/.

Once our appetites had been teased with the new mini, Mr. Cook finally introduced the new iPhone 12. Farther into the event, we were shown the three other iPhones debuting this year: iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

There are so many improvements across the line. First, all the phones are 5G. You’ve probably heard a lot about 5G and understand that it’s much faster than our current 4G. This alone would be a great selling point for the new iPhone but there’s more.

Apple worked with Corning Glass and has developed a new glass which Apple is calling Ceramic Shield. They claim it is 4X better when it comes to drop performance. There’s a new processor chip which, at least on paper, leaves previous chips in the dust. All the phone cases have been re-designed and have magnetic backs for connecting accessories.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini

The iPhone 12 has a 6.1″ Super Retina XDR Display while the mini has the same display but is sized at 5.4.” Find out more about the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Mini by visiting here: https://www.apple.com/iphone-12/.

iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max

The iPhone Pro has a 6.1″ display while the iPhone Pro Max is 6.7″ – the iPhone’s largest screen ever.

Of course, picture taking and video recording will be far better with the new iPhone, particularly the Pro series.
