No More Microsoft Passwords

Finally, no more Microsoft passwords! Yes, you read that correctly. You can now delete your Microsoft password forever!

Password Troubles

Over the years, one of the most aggravating aspects of computer usage has been passwords. Let’s see if you can relate to any of these password troubles:

  • You forgot your password.
  • Your password was lost.
  • You changed your password but forgot to record it so you had to change it again.
  • You didn’t even know your email had a password because you “saved it in the browser” years ago and never had to type it in.
  • Trying to change your password was exhausting because you couldn’t remember your security question answers.
  • Your recovery email or recovery phone number aren’t up-to-date so you couldn’t receive a code to reset your password..
  • Some site you log-in to forced you to change your password too often.
  • You broke one of the password rules I listed in my post, “Passwords Revisited.”
  • Your password was hacked and someone got into your email or bank account or some other important account.

Ways To Combat These Password Troubles

Over the years, companies have tried to find ways to make passwords safer and ease our pain dealing with them. Companies created password manager software to store our passwords for us. Two-step authentication allowed us to receive a text message with a code to use instead of our password. Also, authenticators were created and they allowed us to use our finger print or face ID to unlock an account., But, even with all of these improvements, we still had to have a password at the root of it all.

What Microsoft Has Done

Microsoft, in an attempt to stop phishing attacks and other related problems, has now made it possible for you to delete your Microsoft password. Yes, you read that correctly. If you use a Microsoft account – email, Office 365 or any other type of Microsoft account, you can now delete your password forever!

Of course, you’ll need another way of logging in. My suggestion is the Microsoft Authenticator app but you can also use a SMS text message to a smart phone or you can use an email address. Any of these options will allow you to log-in and make it much more difficult for a hacker to access your information.

No More Microsoft Passwords

Now that Microsoft has taken this step-forward to save us from all those password troubles, I mentioned above, we can only hope that other companies will follow suit. When that happens, we can throw away our password books and Post-it notes!

How To Delete Your Microsoft Password

As I mentioned above, my suggestion is that you use the Microsoft Authenticator app. I have a video showing you how to download, install and use the app. You’ll find the video HERE.
