One of the questions we get asked often is, “What photo app should I use?” I always give the same answer: “Pick one and learn it. If you decide you don’t like it, try another app. But, don’t jump from photo app to photo app – it’s too confusing.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In truth, if all you want to do is crop a picture and remove red eye, you really don’t need much more than the photo apps that come built into Windows and Mac computers. However, if you’d like to do more, read on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve all heard about “Photo-shopped” pictures. That word has become a generic term for “fixing” pictures with software. However, just like we use Kleenex to mean any tissue and Q-tip to mean any cotton swab on a stick, photo-shopping actually came from Adobe’s Photo Shop program. This is an awesome program but for many people it has one drawback – price. In truth, I could never justify the purchase price until Adobe came up with their Cloud service and Photo Shop was included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve read this far, you might be interested in finding a program that will do more than crop and remove red eye but whose price won’t cause you to remortgage the house. Enter Corel’s P<\/a><\/strong>aint Shop Pro<\/strong><\/a>. I always used this program before I was able to get Adobe’s Photo Shop and I still use it because I know it so well.
