In this post, I’m going to talk about bad computing habits I see every day. Because I’m a nice guy, I’m not going to ask you to raise your hand if you are guilty of any of them but I hope you’ll change your ways!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always Searching For A Website That You Constantly Use<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the bad computing habits that drives me crazy! Just this week, someone in Remote asked for help with getting their bank statement. When I asked them to go to their bank, they used a search engine to try to find the login page. They had no idea how dangerous this was. Unquestionably, you can easily be fooled in search results and find yourself on a scam page that “looks like” the site you want. This is especially a problem with financial websites. If you’re guilty of this, make sure to re-read my previous posts about bookmarks\/favorites.<\/p>\n\n\n

#2 In My List Of Bad Computing Habits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully, with the dawn of Passkeys<\/a><\/strong> and the slow demise of passwords, this bad habit will go away. In the meantime, another on my list is: using the same password for multiple sites.<\/p>\n\n\n

Deleting Spam\/Junk Emails <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We constantly get phone calls and emails asking us how people can eliminate junk (a.k.a. spam) emails. We always tell them that the first step is to make sure to do what I’ve outlined in a post from October 2021. Click on the photo below to review and see if you’re guilty!<\/p>\n\n\n
