But, what I&#8217;m talking about is <strong>Microsoft Office 2010<\/strong> (not to be confused with Windows 10).  Support for this version of Office ends this month &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">October 13, 2020 to be exact.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are using Microsoft Office version 2010 or older (Heaven forbid!), it&#8217;s time to upgrade.  The most logical move is to purchase Microsoft 365 (formerly, Office 365.) This is a subscription service you pay either monthly or once a year.  (The year option saves you two monthly charges.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two subscription options for home users:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Personal Subscription &#8211; $69.99  This includes: 1TB of cloud storage; Word; Excel; PowerPoint; OneNote; Outlook: Access (PC Only); Publisher (PC Only); OneDrive; Skype; and, Microsoft Editor.<\/li><li>Family Subscription &#8211; $99.99  This includes everything in the Personal Subscription plus Microsoft Family Safety.  Additionally, the subscription can be shared between 6 people with up to 6TB of cloud storage (1TB each person). <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some things to note about Microsoft 365:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You can install your subscription on either a Windows PC or a Mac.<\/li><li>Your files which you created in Office 2010 will work fine in Microsoft 365.<\/li><li>You only pay the subscription price &#8211; you will not pay for any updates to the suite as long as your subscription is current.<\/li><li>You can add your subscription to a smart phone or tablet.<\/li><li>You should (or we should, if you&#8217;re a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/support.4kcc.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Remote Technical Support<\/a><\/strong> customer) uninstall Office 2010 before you install Microsoft 365.  The files you created in Office 2010 will not be removed as you&#8217;ll only be uninstalling the program, not the data.<\/li><li>You will need a Microsoft account to set up Microsoft 365.  If you don&#8217;t already have one, the account is free and only takes a few minutes to set up.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have an Amazon account, I would suggest purchasing through Amazon.  For the Personal Subscription, you can save a few bucks by buying there. There&#8217;s no discount for this edition but if you already have an Amazon account, you won&#8217;t have to share your purchase information with Microsoft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t take a chance with a hacker possibly gaining access to your computer because of a future, unpatched vulnerability being discovered.
