In fact, with some keyboards, there aren&#8217;t any icons on the F keys but, rather, they appear elsewhere.  With that in mind, let&#8217;s look at a few more of the icons you might find on your keyboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-power-related-keyboard-icons\">Power Related Keyboard Icons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1020\" height=\"318\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/powerandlock.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of: lock, unlock and power off.\" class=\"wp-image-6287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/powerandlock.jpg 1020w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/powerandlock-300x94.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/powerandlock-768x239.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/powerandlock-600x187.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1020px) 100vw, 1020px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">In this photo, we see three icons.  The two with the padlocks are pretty self-evident.  You can put the computer to sleep and wake it up with just a press of the button.  Of course, when you awaken it, you&#8217;ll need to put in your password or PIN, assuming you use one.  The third icon on the right will power down your computer.  Pretty easy, don&#8217;t you agree?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-are-you-fast-on-a-calculator\">Are You Fast On A Calculator?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"288\" height=\"198\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/calculator_icon.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of a calculator keyboard icon.\" class=\"wp-image-6288\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">While I have no idea how fast you are when using a calculator, I know if your keyboard has the icon above, you&#8217;ll be speedy at opening it.  Yes, if you thought that looks like a calculator, you were correct.  Press it and your computer&#8217;s calculator appears. No, pressing it a second time will not close the calculator!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-refreshing-keyboard-icons\">Refreshing Keyboard Icons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/refresh_ions-1.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of a keyboard ion array of three icons.\" class=\"wp-image-6290\" width=\"837\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/refresh_ions-1.jpg 1004w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/refresh_ions-1-300x91.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/refresh_ions-1-768x234.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/refresh_ions-1-600x183.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 837px) 100vw, 837px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">The three icons above perform a variety of procedures.  The first on the left will bring up search.  If you&#8217;re NOT in a browser, it will bring up the Windows search.  If you ARE in a browser, it will bring the search bar up so you can search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">The middle icon will refresh the web page you are on in a browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">The icon all the way on the right will bring up your Favorites\/Bookmarks when you&#8217;re in a browser.  At least, in theory that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s supposed to do.  On my computer, it does nothing!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-accountant-s-keyboard\">Accountant&#8217;s Keyboard<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">If your computer keyboard has an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dummies.com\/computers\/pcs\/keyboards\/the-basic-pc-keyboard-layout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">accountant&#8217;s keyboard a.k.a. numeric keypad<\/a><\/strong>, you may find this icon:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"358\" height=\"367\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/num_lk.jpg\" alt=\"screenshot of the NumLock Keyboard icon.\" class=\"wp-image-6291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/num_lk.jpg 358w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/num_lk-293x300.jpg 293w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 358px) 100vw, 358px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">What&#8217;s the Accountant&#8217;s Keyboard?  That&#8217;s the extra keyboard area usually on the right-hand side.  It has numbered keys 0-9 and some basic arithmetic function keys like Plus (+) and Negative (-).
