Whether you&#8217;ve already upgraded to 11 or purchased a new computer with 11, you should know about these changes.  If you haven&#8217;t decided whether your going to upgrade or stay with Windows 10, perhaps what I share will influence your decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-windows-11-changes-1-the-start-menu\">Windows 11 Changes &#8211; #1: The Start Menu<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">By default, the start menu in Windows 11 is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">centered<\/span> at the bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"111\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/taskbar_centered-1024x111.png\" alt=\"Windows 11 Start Menu centered on the Task bar.\" class=\"wp-image-6690\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/taskbar_centered-1024x111.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/taskbar_centered-600x65.png 600w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/taskbar_centered-300x32.png 300w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/taskbar_centered-768x83.png 768w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/taskbar_centered.png 1073w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Although there is a setting option to move the Start Menu to the left on the task bar, I urge you to leave it where it is and give it a try.  For me, I like having it in the center &#8211; especially on touch devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-the-taskbar-right-click-menu\">#2: The Taskbar Right-click Menu<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">In previous versions of Windows, if you right-clicked on the task bar, you&#8217;d receive a large menu of things you could do. In Windows 11, when you click on the Start Menu, you&#8217;ll find the Power Options icon on the right. When you right-click on a file or folder, instead of seeing an all character menu, you&#8217;ll see icons for Cut, Copy, Rename, Share and Delete.  Here&#8217;s an example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"634\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/right-click_file_folder_win11D.jpg\" alt=\"Windows 11 Changes: icons on right-click menu when on file or folder.\" class=\"wp-image-6707\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/right-click_file_folder_win11D.jpg 634w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/right-click_file_folder_win11D-600x473.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/right-click_file_folder_win11D-300x237.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">You might note that, while there are icons are the top of this menu, &#8220;Show more options&#8221; appears at the bottom.  If you click on that, you get the Windows 10 menu you were used to using.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-change-5-different-backgrounds-for-desktops\">Change #5: Different Backgrounds For Desktops<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Having multiple monitors is nice.  You can have different programs on multiple screens so you don&#8217;t have to keep switching.  Did you know that, in Windows 10, even if you have only one monitor, you can different desktops?  (If you&#8217;re not familiar with this option, you might take a few minutes and read about it, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.windowscentral.com\/how-use-multiple-desktops-windows-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a><\/strong>.)  I rarely used this feature in Windows 10 for one reason &#8211; you couldn&#8217;t change the background on the different desktops so it was confusing to use.  As I explained in my post, &#8220;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.4kcc.com\/blog\/2021\/08\/31\/windows-11-is-coming-october-5th\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Windows 11 Is Coming<\/a><\/em> October 5th<\/strong>,&#8221; you can now change the backgrounds.  This makes the process so much more organized.
