The search engine battle – Part 4 * Conclusion. As I’ve been saying all along, the battle is alive and well, as I mentioned in Part 1 of this series. You definitely want to read that post before you peruse this one. You’ll find it HERE<\/a><\/strong>. In that post, I gave a list of the advantages and disadvantages of Google Search. Part 2<\/a><\/strong> covered Bing Search. In Part 3<\/a><\/strong>, I gave the pros and cons of the DuckDuckGo search engine. In this post, I bring everything to a conclusion!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Let me quote from Part 1: “As is true with most things in life, each of these search engines has its share of advantages and disadvantages.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Part 1, I listed ten search engines. We covered the advantages and disadvantages of three of them: Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo. You might wonder why I don’t list the pros and cons for all of them. Here’s why. Two of them (Yahoo<\/a><\/strong> and AOL<\/a><\/strong>) actually use the Bing search engine. One of them (StartPage<\/a><\/strong>) runs on Google’s search. Two others (Baidu and Yandex) are used by those in foreign countries – China and Russia. The Ask search engine (Ask.com) which uses a question-and-answer format has faded tremendously in use because of its limited index and an over-abundance of advertisements. The biggest advantage of the final search engine (Ecosia) is that they use profit to plant trees when you search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To Sum It Up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ultimately, which search engine you use depends on your personal preferences and your specific requirements. You may find that you’ll wind up more like me. I use four or five different search engines depending on what I am looking for. You do cut down on your ability to find things when you simply stick with one search type.
