Are you an iPhone user? Are you an Android user thinking of moving to an iPhone? Well, brace yourself! There’s a new iPhone operating system coming in a few months and there are some major changes. iOS 14 was just announced and “The Times They Are A Changin’.”
For some of you, you’re going to hate the new iOS 14 because you’ll need to learn some new things! Heaven forbid! Okay, I get it. Most of us hate change. Yet, in reality, change is what keeps life interesting and change is what helps us grow.
What are some of the new things coming in iOS 14? Here’s a brief list:
- An App Library on a new Home Screen – Apple finally brings some organization to your apps
- Picture-in-picture – You’ll be able to watch a video while still doing other things on your phone
- Set third-party apps as your default email and browser – Want to use Microsoft Edge as your default browser? Now you can!
- Call notifications get small – Now, when someone calls you, the call won’t take over your entire screen
- CarPlay will let you lock, unlock and start your car
- Cycling directions come to Apple Maps
- Siri stops taking over your entire screen when you call for her help
Most of the changes in iOS 14 look like winners to me. Again, though, you’ll need to learn new things. Be up to the challenge. I’ll try to help you with screenshots and videos of what to do as soon as the beta version of iOS 14 is released in July. Keep watching my blog posts for more info!
